We're in the final stretch before mainnet and submitting Proposal 002 to secure the funding we need to launch safely and operate at scale.
Launch Timeline
Private mainnet goes live next week with weekly cohorts of 100 users from our November/December registrants and top token holders. We're keeping a $500 deposit limit during this phase while we validate everything in a live environment.
The Trusted Setup Ceremony is the cryptographic foundation for Umbra's privacy guarantees. We use a hybrid approach: Phase 1 builds on the Perpetual Powers of Tau ceremony (the industry standard), and Phase 2 splits into two tracks. Lower-constraint circuits get a web-based contribution portal for community participation. Higher-constraint circuits run through a CLI ceremony with the technical team and ecosystem leaders. This ensures both security and inclusivity.
Public mainnet goes live once the final audit completes next month.
What We're Funding
Our codebase has evolved significantly since December. We've built something substantially faster and smoother with an expanded feature set. That means we need rigorous verification before launch. We're bringing in Halborn to run audits on the ZK circuits and Solana programs. Total cost is $150k and gets us through the final security review before we go live.
We're also increasing our monthly budget to $100k to cover three critical operational pieces. First is Groom Lake at $8,750/month for offensive security and threat monitoring. Second is legal advisory and accounting at $6k/month to hit the Blockworks Standard for financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Third is $50k USDC to seed the initial anonymity set so privacy guarantees work from Day 1.
